App Permissions & Data Usage
At Echozer, we believe in transparency. When you install one of our Shopify apps, Shopify asks you to approve certain permissions. These permissions allow our apps to provide the features you choose to use.
We request only the access necessary for our apps to function. We do not request unnecessary permissions, and we never sell your store data.
This page explains what information our apps can access and why that access is required.
Our Apps
This page applies to the following Shopify apps:
- Echo Swatch Color Variant Image
- Echo Bundle Quantity Breaks
The permissions required may vary slightly depending on the features available in each app.
Store Information
Our apps access basic information about your Shopify store, such as your store name, store URL, and plan details. This information allows us to identify your store, configure the app correctly, manage your subscription, and provide customer support.
Products
Our apps require access to your products so they can display product information, create swatches, build bundles, and apply settings to the correct items in your store.
We never modify product information unless you perform an action within the app that requires it.
Product Variants
Variant information is used to display color swatches, image swatches, size options, and other product variations. It also allows our apps to create accurate product bundles and improve the shopping experience for your customers.
Collections
Access to collections allows our apps to apply settings, display products correctly, and support features that work across multiple products or collections.
Inventory
Inventory access is used only when required for app functionality. This helps ensure that bundles, offers, and product displays remain accurate and reflect the current availability of products.
Themes
Theme access allows our apps to integrate with your Shopify storefront and display features such as color swatches, image swatches, and bundle offers without requiring you to manually edit your theme files.
Whenever possible, our apps use Shopify’s app embed and app block technologies to provide a safe and compatible installation experience.
Files
Some app features require access to Shopify files, such as product images and other assets, so that swatches, variant images, and visual elements can be displayed correctly on your storefront.
Billing Information
Subscription billing is handled securely through Shopify. Our apps receive only the information necessary to manage your subscription and confirm your selected pricing plan.
We never collect or store your payment card information.
Technical Information
Like most modern software, our apps collect limited technical information such as error logs, performance data, and diagnostic information. This helps us troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, and provide better customer support.
This information is used only to maintain and improve our services.
Customer Data
Our apps are designed to work primarily with your store and product information.
We do not intentionally collect or store your customers’ personal information unless it is required to provide a specific feature that you choose to use.
How We Use Your Data
The information accessed through our apps is used only to provide the services you request, operate app features, improve performance, provide customer support, maintain platform security, investigate technical issues, and comply with applicable legal requirements.
We do not use your data for unrelated advertising purposes, and we do not sell or rent your information to third parties.
Data Security
We take the security of merchant data seriously. We use appropriate technical and organizational safeguards to help protect the information processed through our apps from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss.
Access to merchant data is limited to authorized personnel who require it to provide and maintain our services.
Data Retention
We retain merchant data only for as long as it is necessary to provide our services.
If you uninstall an Echozer app, your associated store data is permanently deleted within 24 hours, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law.
Your Control
You remain in control of your store data at all times. Shopify displays all requested permissions before installation, and you decide whether to grant access.
You can uninstall our apps at any time through your Shopify Admin, which ends our access to your store in accordance with Shopify’s platform requirements.
Questions About Permissions
If you have any questions about the permissions requested by our apps or how we use your data, we are happy to help.
